Mike Spanton holds a Master of Education from the University of Hawaii (4.0 GPA) and a B.A. in History and Political Science, cum laude, from Temple University Japan. Since 1994, he has been educating both children and adults in diverse settings (public, international, and private schools) in multiple subjects, including English as a Second Language in Hawaii, California, and Japan. Having lived in Japan over 15 years he is fluent in Japanese culture and customs, and conversational in Japanese/Nihongo.
Nicholas J. Osborne is a consultant and the founder of Osborne-Education. He started his career of teaching at Ottumwa Middle School returning for Summers to serve at a children's home in the city.
He has over two decades of experience working in senior-level administrative positions and is a nationally recognized expert in issues surrounding veterans in education. Nick has worked as an Assistant Dean of Students and was also the founding director of all veteran’s programs at the University of Illinois, including The Chez Center for Wounded Veterans. He also worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs and completed 8 years’ service in the U.S. Coast Guard, working in various law enforcement and intelligence capacities. Nick holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of California Davis and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and books on topics related to veterans and higher education.
